Minus the Bear Video - Performing "My Time" on Jimmy Kimmel

I can remember seeing Minus the Bear back probably like five years ago with my sister. It was at the Grog Shop in Cleveland, OH, but we also saw Murder by Death and Braid there. Epic show. Check out this Minus the Bear video of them playing "My Time" on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

It's Father's Day. Hope You Know How To Jump A Car!

Filed Under:

Happy Father's Day everyone! When I think about Father's Day, I usually think of memories of things that my dad and I used to do or all about the important projects that he had me help him with. There have been so many over the years.

For instance, when we worked on this Ford Escort car together that he couldn't seem to get running. I held the light for him.

Then, any time that he wants me to help him cover or uncover our ceiling vent, I hold the large piece of wood while he removes or inserts the screws.

There was that time that he put in a new floor in our house and he needed help laying down all the wood. I stepped on the plastic in the correct spots so that it wouldn't bubble.

As you can see, my dad made me an integral part of his important jobs and it's really helped me become a better... whatever.

Happy Father's Day!

Kyle

This is a picture of my family and my sister's fiance during X-mas time 2 years ago. I'm the one on the very left with long hair I had a couple years ago and the tough guy on the right is my dad.

Cover Song of "Airplanes" by B.O.B., Hayley Williams, and Eminem

I've been doing my own music for awhile now. Recording that is. And it's been great, BUT, I thought that it would probably help me from a marketing standpoint to create a cover song of something that's popular.

It's not as egotistical as it sounds. However, I couldn't arrive at a song that I wanted to even touch. I've considered "Down" by Jay Sean, "Forever" by Drake, and even "Paparazzi" by Lady Gaga.

That was going to be freakin' sweet. Believe you me.

But I've finally arrived at a song that I was immediately swooped up in from the moment I've first heard it.

I have a feeling that a lot of you like it too since my fiance told me that everyone on her Facebook wall quotes this song 24/7.

Plus, I knew that I had a pretty good chance of standing out with my rock/hardcore cover when I browsed YouTube and found that everything was pretty much the same. You either have a guy on an acoustic guitar, a guy rapping, or a girl singing slowly on the piano.

So...

I'm really f-ing excited to finish this. Yes, it's not finished, but I thought that I should at least tell you what's going on! Be happy for that!

As a bit of a treat for reading this post, check out these videos that I found on YouTube of other musicians cover "Airplanes". Leave some love in the comments area below :]

Mark Hoppus Hosting His Own Show On FuseTV?

Filed Under:
So how about the Fuse station is going to announce that Mark Hoppus, bassist of Blink 182, will be hosting his very own television series on FuseTV. How b.a. is that?!

Apparently, it's going to be about what Mark does best and that's being funny while discussing music. Fuse is going to officially unveil the show at a New York Press Conference on June 22.

I don't know about you, but I'm extremely excited to check this out since those who know me well can definitely vouch for my favoritism of Mark over the other members of Blink. No offense guys! I love you all!

In the meantime, Blink 182 is still working on their new record, and a big announcement is set to come from Hoppus's personal blog, so keep an eye out! This is all so awesome to take!

Four Year Strong Video - "It Must Really Suck to Be Four Year Strong Right Now"

There's a new Four Year Strong video out right now and it's pretty sweet if I do say so myself. And I just love it when bands actually put the spotlight on their fans in an interesting way and that's exactly what Four Year Strong did.

Check out out at this link and have some fun.

Four Year Strong Video

It's not up on YouTube just yet so I couldn't actually embed it on my blog. I apologize :[

Secret Project + New As I Lay Dying Video!

Yo yo yo!

This past week, I must say that it was quite interesting. I spent some time hanging out with a few buddies that I really don't see a lot of anymore, mostly because of our changing lives. (That makes me think of puberty and our "changing bodies") It's all for the better, but it's great to catch up with old friends. Don't you think?

Well, what made these rendezvouses so interesting was that there was actually a secret project being formed in the process. We've had this project in the back of our minds for awhile. Years actually. But we were all involved in other time-consuming efforts.

Don't you just hate how ominous I'm writing right now?

But, you have to understand. What this project is going to be, it's probably going to be very huge when it happens. VERY huge.

You see, these friends that I met up with are not just any friends, but a group of guys that I was in cohorts with... in order to rule Northeast Ohio.

I've probably said too much.

So anyway...

Another awesome reason for this post is to make you aware, if you're not already, of the new As I Lay Dying music video that came out! It's for their single "Parallels". At least I'm assuming that that's their single since they have a video for it now.

But it has some great animation in it. Kudos to the guys for that. I'm a little bummed with how static and boring the action shots of the band is, but the song... it's the balls.

Take a watch if you love you some metal. If you don't.... I'll talk to you soon and keep you updated on the "Secret Project" which may be revealed soon enough...

All the best always,
Kyle

NEW SONG - "Realizing the Betrayer"

Filed Under: Labels:

It's been a long time since the last tune, but I've finally completed my next musical creation, "Realizing the Betrayer"!

Just click my music player on the side bar or you can listen here:

Myspace | ReverbNation | Facebook (Click on the My Band tab)

I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. It's pretty neat because most of the time, the songs never turn out as I plan them, but sound better than my puny brain can actually compose...

As you can probably guess, it has a darker subject matter. I think I'm best at writing like that.

Oh well. Enough of my yapping! Have a listen and have a great day!

Wish you well,
Kyle

Scoring Some Karma Points

Filed Under: Labels:

I have to say that I'm a bit pissed because I was intending on making a nice video post of everything but my video cam decided that it doesn't want to work anymore. Thank you web cam.

As a follow-up post to the last one, Happy Memorial Day!, I wanted to report that the owners of the dog that we turned into the Emergency Animal Clinic found their animal! I was extremely excited to hear this because they called me the very next morning.

It was nice to hear that there were owners that were genuinely concerned about their animal... who is named Dakota, by the way. Cute name.

I have a few pictures here of a the very wonderful thank you card they sent me and an extremely cute photo of Dakota that was included. Awwww..... :]

I'm just glad that everything is back to normal for that family.

The other thing that I want to mention is that I know I've been promising this song to come out soon, "Realizing the Betrayer", but I completely refuse to put out crap and say that it was made by me. I really do. That's why if I think that something needs rewritten or remixed, I do it. I don't even think about it.

So that's what's really been going on. All of the tracks are finished and I'm in the process of adding effects, mixing, and getting everything in order for its debut.

However, I want to mention that for the next song after this, I WON'T be doing original music, but in fact... a cover song. I still haven't decided on what exactly. Maybe a pop or rap thing, but I just want it to be something that everyone will enjoy hearing is all.

So, if you happen to have any suggestions at all as to what you think would make a good cover, give me some suggestions because I'm up for almost anything.

Well, that's all. Have a great Sunday :]

To your success,
Kyle
